At 25, I decided my goal in life was to inspire others to become the best version of themselves-- a journey that I actively walk everyday. My goal as a photographer is to capture genuine, uninhibited emotion from you, your spouse, your friends and family on your wedding day. I want to give you a front row seat to the joy, laughter, and love as you look back and remember one of the most important days of your life. I also want to bring another level of fun, humor and excitement to your wedding experience through my character + personality.
How it all started...
My grandmother (I call her Nanny) was super influential when I was growing up and deciding what kind of person I wanted to become. She was incredibly unique, and quickly became my first and favorite subject, because I wanted to share with the world just how special she was. She was like the long lost Golden Girl from Baltimore.
She was the first to show me unconditional love, and never let me give up on my dreams. My last promise to her was that I would never give up on myself or my dream-- staying course on my journey to being my best self, and becoming a photographer.
After starting my photography business in 2014, I continued to work in the restaurant industry as a server at Miss Shirley’s Cafe in Roland Park while photographing weddings on the weekend.
In 2016 my best friend (Todd) encouraged me to take a leap of faith to leave the restaurant industry and solely focus on my wedding photography business, since it was quickly growing each year. Easily one of the best decisions I have ever made.
I want to capture the Todds + the Nannys of your life. The people that made you exactly who you are. The people that made it possible for you to find the love of your life.
In 2017 I lost both Todd + Nanny within one month. It is easy to feel robbed when losing someone who is so dear to your heart but the true robbery would be to have never known them at all. It is my responsibility to commemorate their lives and their impact on my life by giving you my all on your wedding day.
After photographing a wedding in May 2018, I posted preview photos on social media. Later I received a message from the bride ….
“To say that you were phenomenal last night would be an understatement. I knew when I first saw your work that I simply HAD to have you for our wedding. I’ve never felt more comfortable in front of a camera and that was all because of YOU. Your ability to capture precious moments is truly unique. I will forever cherish these pictures because of your talent. You were born to do this, and don’t ever second guess that ❤️”
I replied “Thank you so much, means a lot for you to say that. I lost my best friend last year and he would always tell me stuff like that and I didn't see it myself until he was gone ........ I'm not crying by the way 😂😁”
She replied “🤣🙂I’m truly speechless looking through what you just posted. Your best friend was right. Know that you honor him by fully utilizing your God given talent ❤️”
This is more than a job. It is truly an honor to be able to capture a moment shared with those who have made you who you are. I want my images to inspire everyone who sees them.
If I am expecting you to be the most candid version of yourself the day of your wedding, I believe it is important for me to share some of who I am as well. I am sentimental, humorous, authentic and transparent. I aim for these characteristics of myself to reflect in the way I tell your story through my photographs.
Also I am like a ninja …. you won’t even know I’m there ….
“Shoot for the stars. Never stop trying new things …. and perfecting the art of you.”
